British 1895 Bugler / Drummer’s Sword with King Charles Royal Cypher – Universal Swords

$ 91.84

Category:
Regiment musicians in the Victorian British Army and the volunteer regiments carried their own short sword as a defensive sidearm. Though these are typically referred to as a sword, these Bugler’s Swords have a size and length that is more like a large dirk or a  smaller short sword in size. There were several variants in the 19th century and these followed a Neo-Gothic styling complete with the cypher of the reigning monarch at the guard and this one features the monogram cypher of the current monarch of Great Britain, King Charles III. This replica has a blade of 1065 high carbon steel which is solidly mounted and peened into a hilt of finely cast brass. It is paired with a thick leather sheath which is completed with brass fittings.
